The Queen, J.K. Rowling, Daniel Craig and more at the Olympics’ Opening Ceremony

J.K. Rowling

Unexpectedly, J.K. Rowling (author of the Harry Potter series) made a surprise appearance at the Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Summer Olympics. She was on stage only for a moment, reading an excerpt from Peter Pan. After she read, a 40-foot Voldemort rose up from the ground, casting spells, only to be destroyed by what seemed to be a hundred Mary Poppins, that fell from the sky. See photos below.

The Queen and Daniel Craig

After a spectacular piece on the Industrial Revolution, which began in the United Kingdom, we saw (a pre-recorded video of) Daniel Craig escorting her majesty, The Queen to the Opening Ceremony. After the video ended, Daniel Craig and The Queen (‘s royal stun double) parachute into the Olympic Stadium. She would then seriously look out into the crowd from a booth with Olympic officials, including President of the International Olympic Committee: Jacques Rogge.

New Info on Gringotts Ride in the Wizarding World Expansion

Universal Orlando just won’t talk about the upcoming Diagon Alley expansion. In the mean time, we are learning about the Gringotts ride. Not from Universal, but from a reliable source, WhyLightBulb.

“Gringott’s will be an amazing ride. The ride system itself will break new ground and the show elements will be a wonder to behold. There will be plenty of environmental effects, 3-D sets and next generation projection effects. It will be better than FJ in my opinion.”

Others who have heard of the ride are calling it simply “Amazing.”

What do you think the Gringotts ride will be like? Will you be going to  the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? Have you already gone? Leave a comment below.
