J.K. Rowling
Unexpectedly, J.K. Rowling (author of the Harry Potter series) made a surprise appearance at the Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Summer Olympics. She was on stage only for a moment, reading an excerpt from Peter Pan. After she read, a 40-foot Voldemort rose up from the ground, casting spells, only to be destroyed by what seemed to be a hundred Mary Poppins, that fell from the sky. See photos below.
The Queen and Daniel Craig
After a spectacular piece on the Industrial Revolution, which began in the United Kingdom, we saw (a pre-recorded video of) Daniel Craig escorting her majesty, The Queen to the Opening Ceremony. After the video ended, Daniel Craig and The Queen (‘s royal stun double) parachute into the Olympic Stadium. She would then seriously look out into the crowd from a booth with Olympic officials, including President of the International Olympic Committee: Jacques Rogge.
