Due on April 12th, North Korea plans to launch a rocket to carry a satellite into Earth’s orbit. This has sparked controversy throughout Asia as the previous time North Korea launched what they called a “rocket” was a discreet test of a 250 kiloton nuclear warhead over the South China Sea back in 2009. Japan, out of all the nations of Asia, has agreed, that if the rocket launch is to take place, and the missile drifts into Japanese airspace, that it will be shot down immediately. In response, North Korea stated that the launch will be for peaceful ”media” services.
Also within the course of the past two months, were nuclear arms talks between the U.S. and North Korea, which are currently on hold. It has been feared that North Korea has been producing nuclear arms for more than 30 years. But the suspicions have only been accused by some United Nations members. Some, like China and Iran, support the decision for North Korea to launch a satellite into orbit, but this only strengthens the fears put forth by other nations.
So, what are your thoughts? Will North Korea’s rocket launch go as predicted, bringing more media to North Korea’s troubled citizens? Or will war erupt over a possible cover-up by the Pyongyang Government to deploy a another nuclear warhead?
